Lake Dust, Oilfield Mud and a Long Drive

Pressure Washing in Zapata, TX looks different from a city job. The county seat sits on the shore of Falcon International Reservoir, about fifty miles south of Laredo on U.S. 83, and properties here range from fishing homes and RV pads to ranch buildings and pickups that spend the week in oil and gas country. We make scheduled trips down from Laredo and plan each one around the county's current water restrictions.

Zapata County's Stage III rules come first

When we checked in October 2026, Zapata County's website linked a Stage III Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan under an "Effective Immediately" heading, with no issue date shown; the plan names Zapata County Waterworks as the utility carrying it out. Check the current stage with Zapata County Waterworks before booking. Under that plan, washing down sidewalks, walkways, driveways and parking lots is listed as nonessential and prohibited, and washing down buildings is prohibited except for immediate fire protection. Vehicle and boat washing is allowed only on designated days and hours, using a bucket or a hand-held hose with a positive shutoff nozzle. Designated days run by the last digit of your address: Monday for 1, 2 or 3; Wednesday for 4, 5 or 6; and Friday for 7, 8, 9 or 0, between midnight and 10 a.m. or after 8 p.m. While a plan like this is in effect, we will tell you up front which jobs we can and cannot do, and we will not book work the plan prohibits.

Boats, trailers and lake gear

Bass fishing draws anglers and tournaments to Falcon, and that means boats, trailers and tow vehicles parked at Zapata homes. When the county's rules allow vehicle washing on your designated day, we can hand-wash and rinse hulls, trailers and tow rigs in a way that fits the rules. We work with a shutoff nozzle and keep cleaners away from the shoreline.

Oil, gas and ranch properties

The area has long been a center of ranching and oil and gas wells, and that shows up as caked mud on work trucks, grease on shop floors and dust on metal buildings. Once restrictions ease, we degrease shop slabs and equipment pads, wash metal barns and clean fleet pickups. Vehicles used to transport food and perishables may be exempt from some of the county's vehicle-washing limits; we review your situation against the posted plan before quoting.

A town that moved

Zapata moved to higher ground around 1953, when Falcon Dam was finished and the reservoir flooded the original town center and many acres of irrigated farmland. Census estimates show 68.0% of homes are owner-occupied and 94.7% of residents lived in the same house a year earlier, so many properties have had decades to collect stains.

Honest scheduling

Zapata is about fifty miles from our Laredo base, so we do not offer same-day service here. We set Zapata days in advance, often combined with San Ygnacio, and give you a firm date. Call (956) 766-4675 for a free estimate and a written quote with typical price ranges.

Zapata Details That Shape the Job

  • Stage III water restrictions. The Stage III plan posted on Zapata County's website (undated, checked October 2026) prohibits washing sidewalks, driveways and parking lots, and limits vehicle and boat washing to designated days by address digit, using a bucket or shutoff-nozzle hose.

  • Dry, hot and record-setting. Zapata has a hot semi-arid climate with about 19.8 inches of rain a year. It set the all-time U.S. January high of 98°F on January 5, 1997.
